Welsh songbird, Duffy, came to the attention of Rough Trade Management’s Jeannette Lee in August 2004. Rough Trade pointed Duffy in the direction of guitarist/producer Bernard Butler in London’s Crouch End. Duffy spent the next couple years honing and developing her songwriting skills all the while discovering hidden musical gems that inspired her. The fruits of her intense labour is this magnificent album Rockferry. ‘Remember Duffy - she will be the sound of 2008′ per The Evening Standard. A masterclass in mature, resonant pop, ‘Mercy’s hook-laden bassline hails straight from the Motown canon.
